The Gold Coast throws two things at signage that most of Australia does not: salt air and constant UV. Both matter when you are choosing material.
What survives the conditions
Corflute — corrugated polypropylene. It cannot rust, which is the main advantage anywhere near the coast, and it is UV stable. Cheap enough to replace annually rather than fight the weather.
Dye-sublimated fabric flags — the colour is in the fibre, so salt spray does not lift an ink layer off the surface. Feather and teardrop flags suit beachfront and forecourt sites; teardrops flap less in an onshore breeze.
