What production techniques are used for the printing of aluminium signs?
For aluminium signs, we use the following two production techniques:
UV Print: This technique makes use of eco-friendly ink that uses UV light for curing. It is the same technique as used by dentists when placing a filling in the teeth of their patients. Curing allows for clear quality and sharp print.
Latex Print: This technique uses eco-friendly latex inks to print the film. The ink is free of all harmful substances and is water-based. The print is further secured by placing the latex film on top of the print.
Which carriers do you use for delivering aluminium signs?
Our preferred choice for delivering aluminium signs is Startrack because of its reliability and affordable rates. However, we may use a different carrier if the need be.

Can aluminium signs be used outside?
Yes, you can use brushed aluminium signs outside.
What material is used to make aluminium signs?
We use painted aluminium to make our aluminium signs which makes them fit for outside usage. They are made using synthetic plates that are light in weight. They have a dibond which increases their strength and sturdiness.
The aluminium plates made this way are water-resistant and do not bend. Thus, they are ideal for promotional signs and facades. The maximum surface of these signs is 2m2 per panel.
What types of finishings are available in aluminium signs?
We offer the following finishes in our aluminium signs:
No Extra Options: The standard finishing of the aluminium sign is a clean cut. In this option, the sign is simply cut to your required specifications.
Two Holes: There are two holes in the upper left and right corner of the aluminium signs. This makes them perfect to be hung from the ceiling.
4 Holes: Four holes are neatly drilled in each of the four corners of the aluminium sign. This makes them ideal to be suspended or hung.
Contour Cut: Contour cut involves cutting the sign at the contour lines. This gives them a great neat finish. You can create a unique look by cutting the sign in any shape you want. However, this option requires a special design formatting.
Are different types of materials directly printed on the aluminium signs?
We can print all the materials directly on to the signs but for a more durable long lasting signs we prefer to paste printed stickers on the boards . UV and Latex Print is used for printing.
What is the size of the holes printed in the aluminium signs?
The standard hole size for aluminium signs is 5mm in diameter.
Where are the holes drilled in the aluminium signs?
There is a standard distance of 15mm between each hole drilled in the aluminium signs. Be careful of very small-sized signs as the holes may be drilled into your work.
Add 5 mm bleed all around.
To allow slight cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 5 mm bleed around all edges of your design. Make sure background images, colours, pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting variations. Best to submit your file with printer's marks and crop marks.
Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.
Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving it to PDF.
Fonts should be at least 12 pt.
All Fonts used in your artwork should be at least 12 pt.
Check your artwork on overprint.
Ensure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint. Unless you want this effect in your design. The degree of transparency in printing process depends on many factors like paper, ink and the printing method used.
Use color mode as CMYK .
Prepare all your files using CMYK color mode. Make sure the color mode is not set to RGB. If you are not sure of the colour mode of your file, we can always convert this for you. Its important to keep in mind this can cause the colours to change from the original artwork file.
Resolution of over 150 dpi.
Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are over 150 dpi to make images look crisp.
Keep 10 mm safety margin all around.
Keep all images and text at least 10 mm inside from the edge of the finished size.
Save your file(s) in non-editable, print-ready format.
Save your files in a non-editable, print-ready file formats (PDF , AI, EPS, JPG, PNG). Deliver your files in one layer: the background layer.

Submission specifications for contour cutting.
Your design is required to have a contour cutline set up on a separate layer, and made from a spot color called "cutcontour" of only 100% Magenta in a PDF file. Your design should run 3mm outside the contour cut line (bleed), This is to ensure the design is cut without any white borders.
