Questions people ask
Are these the regulated yellow-and-black hazard signs?
The wildlife designs follow the AS 1319 Warning format — black symbol and text on yellow with a black triangle — which is the correct class for a hazard that is present but not immediately life-threatening. They are printed signs, not the retroreflective road signs a road authority installs, so use them on private property, farm gates, reserves, tracks and worksites rather than on a public roadway.
When should swooping magpie signs go up and come down?
Put them up in the last week of August and take them down by early November. The birds defend the nest only while there are chicks in it, and a sign left up all year gets ignored by the time it matters. Most councils and schools store them and reuse the same boards each spring, which corflute is cheap enough to allow.
Can I add my property, reserve or council name?
Yes — every design is editable in the browser before you order. The usual edits are a property name, a track or reserve name, a contact number for a ranger or land manager, and swapping the species to the one that is actually the problem on your block.
How do I fix one to a wire fence or a star picket?
Order it with corner eyelets and cable-tie it through the four corners; it will sit flat against a hinge-joint fence and it will not chatter in the wind. On a star picket, two cable ties through the top and bottom eyelets on one side hold a 600 × 900 mm board steady, and a third in the middle stops it twisting in an exposed paddock.
Can I put my own wording on it?
Yes. Open any design and rewrite it for your own site, your own property or your own hours. There is no design fee for editing a ready-made design, and no minimum on how much you change.
How long will it last outside?
Roughly 12–18 months in direct Australian sun on 5mm corflute with UV inks. For anything permanent, ask us about aluminium composite instead — same artwork, much longer life.
How fast can I get it?
24 hours in production once your proof is approved, provided that reaches us by 3pm AEST on a working day. Then 1–3 business days to metro, 3–5 regional, 5–7 remote.
