What clearance height should I print on the sign?
Measure to the lowest point of the opening — the sprinkler head, duct, beam or bracket, not the slab-to-slab height — and post a figure a little under what you measured. Drivers commit to the number at speed, and the margin is what absorbs a bouncing suspension or a slightly overloaded tray.
Which AS 1319 class should an overhead hazard sign be?
Anything that can kill outright — overhead power lines, a load being lifted over people, an active drop zone — belongs in the Danger class with the red oval on black. A hazard that is present but not immediately life threatening, such as a low clearance or falling branches, is the Warning class: black on yellow with a triangle. Mixing them up is the mistake that makes people stop reading the colour.
Can I put our company name and a site contact on these?
