Most trade signage does one of two jobs: it tells people whose site this is, or it tells the neighbourhood you are available. The materials are different for each.

Site signage

Corflute site signs — the standard builder's board on the fence. 5mm corrugated plastic, waterproof, UV stable, and cheap enough that leaving one behind on a finished job is not a problem. Order ten and you have the year covered.

Construction safety signs — site entry, PPE requirements and hazard signage laid out to AS 1319, the Australian Standard. Worth getting right; a safety officer can read a non-compliant sign at a glance.

There is a $136 minimum order, so a single sign is poor value and ten is good value — around $17.88 each at 600 x 900mm, or $12.92 each at twenty-five. Most trades order a year's worth at once with the phone number and licence number set, then reorder annually.
